Personality: Deeply driven and devoted to his cause, Kadaj would go to any lengths to accomplish his mission. Loyalty, integrity, and his own sort of honour form the uttermost basis of his personality, and all choices stem from these three traits. Kadaj intensely dislikes liars, frauds, and poseurs, and holds absolutely no respect for those that would deceive in order to get what they want. He is straightforward and honest, saying what is on his mind and taking what he wants, and makes no effort to hide his motivations.
Family is highly sacred to him, and his devotion to his brothers, Loz and Yazoo, has made him both possessive and overprotective of them. He views his brothers almost as possessions, and any who harm them will soon find themselves at the business end of Souba. However, despite his possessiveness, he does not watch over their every movement or dictate their every action. He expects them to act independently to a certain extent, but, in the end, they are still his left and right hands, standing at his side and offering their skill and aid in battle.
Kadaj is very dominant and demanding, and uses the justification of “What Kadaj wants, Kadaj gets” in order to force his way on almost any issue. If he wants it, he takes it; if he thinks it is his, he does whatever is necessary to claim it.
Despite his sometimes caustic or bratty temperament, on the important issues, Kadaj is very clear-headed. He is a competent fighter and has few fears- death or injury are not considered enough of a threat to deter him. However, threat of danger to his family is enough to force his hand, as he would do anything required to keep them safe, even at the detriment to himself.
Often employing bravado and fierce words as a mask, Kadaj is inwardly somewhat insecure. He will wield Souba and put on a front of fearlessness, but once out of a situation, he may be prone to brooding and introversion.
Kadaj’s loyalty to his brothers is only outreached by his loyalty to one other person- Jenova. For Jenova, he would do anything, unquestioning.
Short Biography: Created in a laboratory on the Northern Continent, Kadaj was subjected to various experiments and training in order to further the plans of Hojo and Lucrecia. Knowing full well that his only existence was to bring Sephiroth back into the world, Kadaj became somewhat bitter and jaded about his own role in life, questioning why waking in the morning was of import when it was the same thing day in and day out; being poked and prodded by Hojo, going through training, participating (usually unwillingly) in experiments, and all only for Sephiroth. He deeply resents the man in whose image he was created, and wants nothing more than to distance himself from Sephiroth despite that, much to his chagrin, he shares many traits with him.
Kadaj soon began to resent the people he viewed as his and his brother’s captors, and he plotted and planned some means of escape. Because of his near isolation from Loz and Yazoo, his relationship with them did not develop fully, and while he would still protect them with his life, or lead them as necessary, he did not feel particularly close to them. It was his loyalty to his family, even if they were not true blood brothers, that kept him grasping hold of his connection to them and refusing to utterly lose them.
Eventually, he planned a daring escape, and he and his brothers left that place, though where to go once away from their oppressors, he didn’t truly know.
Now, with no goal in mind other than his and his brothers’ safety, Kadaj lead them back to the Midgardian continent.
